Deleting voice memos from Library's com.apple.voicememos/Recordings

The m4a files and waveform files in

Library/Application Support/com.apple.voicememos/Recordings

only increase in number. I have two iPads, one iPhone, and one MBPro. I can make sure all files are deleted from Voice Memos on all devices, yet they are not removed from the Recordings folder.

I could manually delete them from time to time, but I don't want to break Voice Memo's function and syncing, which otherwise works fine. Non-audio files and folders are:

  • CloudRecordings.db
  • CloudRecordings.db-shm
  • CloudRecordings.db-wal
  • Recordings.db
  • Recordings.db-shm
  • Recordings.db-wal. [zero bytes]
  • 20220306 110359.composition [folder]
    • fragments [folder, empty]
    • manifest.plist. [XML contains a reference to an m4a & waveform still there]
  • ckAssetFiles [folder, empty]

I have no files I want to keep, so I could delete the entire folder (if it didn't break anything).

Any ideas?
