Markup tool issues in Files

Hi,

I am having issues with markups made on PDFs I’m files not saving. When I am annotating a document (with the Apple Pencil or my finger) the annotations will work, I’ll save them, and then leave the app. If I go back onto it soon after closing it the markups are usually still there, but say I open the document a while afterwards, only a few or none of the markups have been saved on the document.

I’ve tried this on PDFs saved to both Myipad and iCloud, but the issue persists.

Sounds like Markups aren't working as expected for you. We'd be happy to help.

To start, it sounds like everything works as intended early on using the steps from: Use Markup on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

If this is only happening with Markups created in a particular app, complete these steps from If an app on your iPhone or iPad stops responding, closes unexpectedly, or won’t open:

"Close and reopen the app
Restart your device
Check for updates
Delete the app, then redownload it"

If the issue persists, test things out in another app and see if the behavior persists there.
