Bluetooth keyboard response becomes super slow on a regular basis...

Continuation of Bluetooth keyboard regularly goes wacko - Apple Community

Often wake up my Mac Mini and find the keyboard response delayed on every keystroke and by differing amounts. Makes typing very difficult. Especially noticeable because I use Command+Tab a lot and when it doesn't respond immediately it's very obvious. The problem goes away after a reboot and it also goes away if the keyboard is plugged in. I'm using an older mac keyboard with built-in batteries. Other Bluetooth devices all working fine!

Running Monterey 12.2

Mac mini 2018 or later

Disable Sleep, it’s unnecessary on later Macs, all pain, no gain. To disable, set your Energy Saver settings to as shown:

After changing the setting to as shown above, shut down the Mac, pull the power cable from the wall/strip socket for 5 minutes, then bring everything back up again.

Sleep is disabled. Only display gets turned off.

Further to this.... turning the keyboard off and on again has no effect. Charging the keyboard to 100% has no effect. Sometimes keys will repeat when it thinks the key was held down longer than it actually was. Serious bug in Mac Mini with M1 chip.

Starting to regret not buying the Intel version. Also having problems with some third party apps (not related to this issue).

I have the same problem with my iMac 2020 3.8 GHz 8-Core Intel Core i7.
