Flash for Alarm clock?

I am Deaf and really would like to use flash led on the camera to flash when alarm goes off (using the apple clock app on iPad mini 6th gen). But I cannot find where to get this to work. I have "led flash for alarm" set to on. In fact I just did a test using reminders and even that will not flash when reminder, reminds me. I have turned on flash light to be sure the led does work and its fine. Is the option to "led flash for alarm" possibly not working? I would think there would be an option for clock alarm to flash for us Deaf???? Any help would be great. Thanks!
