iPhone 13 Pro camera when switch to 3x, then screen goes all white, over exposed

Using the Camera app from the system(up to date), when I switch it to 3x zoom, the screen would go all white, kinda like it’s over exposed. If I cover the camera with my hand, the exposure would go back to normal again for a few seconds, then if I tap for focus, it goes all white again. This issue only happens with the 3X lens, the 2 other lens (0.5X, 1X) work fine. How to fix this problem? Thanks :)

Hi reno4205,

Welcome to Apple Support Communities. Try these steps to see if they help with the over exposure on your iPhone 13 Pro camera:

  1. "Remove any case, accessory, or film that might block the camera or that places a magnet near the camera.
  2. Test the camera by trying to take a photo.
  3. If the photo is blurry, clean the front and back camera lenses with a microfiber cloth. If you see dirt or debris inside the lens or if the camera lens appears to be misaligned or blocked, contact Apple Support for help with your iPhoneiPad, or iPod touch.
  4. Restart your iPhoneiPad, or iPod touch
  5. Test the camera again by taking a photo. If your device has a front and rear camera, check if one or both isn’t working. To switch cameras, tap the rotate button ."

Since the other zoom options work, it could be an issue with that lens. If you have tried these steps and you are running iOS 15.3.1, we suggest reaching out to Apple support directly: Get Support

We hope this helps.

Cheers!
