iPad screen rotate not working properly

Recently, I’ve been facing this problem where my iPad screen doesn’t rotate when I tilt it. After checking some of the things that might cause this problem like screen-lock and lag, the screen still won’t rotate. My iPad is still somewhat in good condition and doesn’t lag so I’m guessing that the problem might be caused by the orientation sensors on the iPad. Please help to clarify this if possible.

Failure of the gyroscope or accelerometer sensors, whilst unusual, is certainly possible.
