Akai MPK261 not connecting to M1 MacBook Air with Monterey OS

Hi apologies if this has been asked before but I am struggling to connect my keyboard and get it to work with Logic Pro. I have an m1 MacBook Air on Monterey currently on 12.2.1 and when I connect my keyboard to the laptop it receives power but there is no indication that it the laptop is actually reading it.

It works fine on my old intel Macbook pro on big sur, so is it case of M1 not being compatible or Monterey or something else?

Very frustrating at the minute as I obviously cannot go back to big sur on MacBook Air as it was already on Monterey when I bought it. Any help would be much appreciated, thanks.

Got it working. Make sure Monterey is updated, and plug the mpk into the laptop via a usb hub. I’m using this one.

I tested this on my 2020 era Intel MacBook Pro AND on a 2021 m1 MacBook Air.

Both worked.

i also installed that unitor family driver v3. Not sure if that was important.

It didn’t work until I updated the laptop to the latest Monterey update.

So I got a usb hub (https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B09K7BR93R/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1) but for some reason the keyboard doesn't even power up now. The hub works fine as I checked it with some other devices and they worked fine so not sure again not sure what the issue is. Might just have to try another hub.

Not yet compatible with Apple Silicon (M1), like many other devices.

I have the same problem. just connected my akai mpk 261midi but it won't appear on my new MacBook Pro m1. Is there any way to get it to work? if not, when is it compatible do you think?
