I am very curious about time machine but I'm a bit nervous to use it, can somebody please tell me what is it like when you activate time machine?

Time Machine is a life saver, believe me, I’ve used it to easily get back data I believed was gone forever. Before using Time Machine, I did learn the hard way years ago. Put it this way, you can get an external hard drive pretty cheap, what harm could it do? If you’re worried about data, you can easily encrypt the drive. And even more. You can just plug it in, set it to auto backup, and not even have to think about it knowing that everything you add or change is backed up and saved hourly, (Or every time you decide to do a backup). It can’t hurt to have one, two or even more backups of your important data. Hope that helps, otherwise, do you have any other reservations?
It's a data backup routine. It makes copies of your data to preserve it for when you lose said data.
I tried it but still very nervous and have you ever tried time machine, if so, could you paint a picture in my mind of what it is like?
Yes I've tried Time Machine. I've used it every day for 14 years. I can't paint a better picture than what Apple did on the page I linked.
well, it doesn't take much to go back to the present, right
Okay, my last worries vanished. thank you guys.
