I received an email stating activation lock requesting your password

My iPhone was stolen - i have activated the lost mode but have now received an email stating activation lock requesting your password - from the stolen iPhone. Does this mean access is being gained?

It means someone is trying to access the iPhone, but without the Password for the Apple ID they will not be able to.


It's telling you basically your iPhone is being protected.
