Apple ID forgotten password

Having trouble changing Apple ID password on new iPad Air because I forgot password and old iPad Air does not come on any more. When it goes to verifying it will not go anywhere from there, only still verifying. Icons on new iPad show loading but don’t fully load.

If you forgot the Apple ID (iCloud) password, enter the Apple (iCloud) ID, and click Forgot Password. See if you can get a Rescue or Notification email option if necessary. Link to contact Apple Support at the end of the 2nd article.
