Problem to reinstall MacOs in Recovery

When I tried to reinstall MacOs, I found NO disk can be selected. Thereafter go to Disk Utility, and found below - "UNFORMATTED" HDD. Any one got experiences and clear steps, which helps to enable the attempt to reinstall MaxOs. Thanks.

Hi,

Go back into Disk Utility > select top item on left (Apple someting or whatever it's called) > click on Erase > choose Mac OS Extended (Journaled) and GUID (if you're installing an OS prior to High Sierra) or APFS and GUID (if you're installing High Sierra or later) > follow prompts. This will format your HDD and should then allow you to go back to the installation process and select the drive.

From your description it appears the User ( you ) had used this method from Apple ? Use Disk Utility to erase an Intel-based Mac

Is that correct ?

Then this method from Apple to Reinstall from Recovery Mode

Reinstall macOS

Reinstalling macOS does not remove data from your Mac. To begin installation, select Reinstall macOS from the utilities window in macOS Recovery, then click Continue and follow the onscreen instructions.

Follow these guidelines during installation:

  • If the installer asks to unlock your disk, enter the password you use to log in to your Mac.
  • If the installer doesn't see your disk, or it says that it can't install on your computer or volume, you might need to erase your disk first.
