No camera icon for scanning in Notes

My notes scan tool does not have the camera icon. I am running ios 15.3.1. Ideas?

Notes app scan text Hi I hope you can help. I updated to iOS 15.7.4 on iPhone 7. My notes app still does not provide the option to scan text. This says it should work with iOS 15.4 or later: Scan text and documents in Notes using the camera on iPhone - Apple Support Note: I do not need to scan documents, but text. Thanks for your response. My problem is I do not have a camera button in Notes.
