How long for migration to complete?

In my experience a Migration Assistant transfer is completed in about an hour, give or take. This is with the two computers connected with a USB cable. Using Wi-Fi can take forever and often will not complete because the data gets corrupted. It is too slow for so much data.

This is dependent on the previous device and ammount of data you want to transfer.

In my experience this is possible. Usually older devices with slow HDD drive will take a long time to migrate to a new device.
