I cannot delete a mysterious "test" user account

I recently did a complete test of my MacBook Pro A1706 using the "D" key before normal start-up... this asked me for a Wifi connection and it must have connected to a server somehow... but it also apparently created a new "test" user account which I don't seem able to delete! (I've tried multiple angles already)

I will probably call Apple for support but if this is a known issue... I'll be happy to hear about it and how to get rid of it (it pops up at start-up... it's annoying)

Thanks

MacBook Pro 13″, macOS 12.2

Thanks jmarse1.

Yep... been there, done that, spent 1h15min with Apple support this morning and even trying root user mods didn't solve the pbm. I chose the Nuke option, wiped the HD clean and just reinstalled everything... could have chosen to restore only my own account using a Time Machine backup but in doubt I started fresh (not such a time difference).

Cheers
