Connect printer to USB-A port or use adaptor for Thunderbolt port?

I have a LaserJet printer that connects to a USB-A port on my iMac. Same with my scanner. My iMac also has a few open Thunderbolt ports and I'm wondering if I were to use a USB-A to Thunderbolt adaptor for those two cables cable, and connect them to the Thunderbolt ports on my iMac, if I would notice any performance or speed improvements.

Thanks in advance for any advice you can offer.

You will see no speed increase. The speed is only as fast as the slowest hardware (your printer port design)
