Why are all iPhone X models required to pay for facial recognition?

I don’t think it’s fair to charge all iPhone X owners for facial recognition if we hadn’t downloaded the newest version we would still have facial recognition. Now we have to take to a certified apple repair place to have what we already had that’s not good business. Hats my opinion.

not an expert but from what I've read then it's a thing with unofficial third party parts repair that cause the fault

If an alert says Face ID has been disabled on your iPhone or iPad Pro - Apple Support


or you can try contacting

apple Support ->  Get Support (apple.com)

and or give them feedback -> Product Feedback - Apple
