Password storage location?

When I setup a new sheet with a new password, ‘Numbers’ will ask, “would you like This Password to be saved?”. However, after an iOS update or other change occurs my Touch password feature (for my iPad Air) or facial recognition feature (iPhone 13 Pro) will ask to me to manually enter my password (required). Here is the problem- the password is not stored in the Settings>Passwords library. So now I cannot gain access to that protected file. This only happens with the Apple and (Microsoft 365) office suit apps. Other Apps, websites, and search engine apps will save their User/Passwords to the Settings/Passwords library. Where are the Apple product Passwords stored when the Touch-ID or Facial recognition is not functioning and requesting to manually enter it?

iPad Air, iPadOS 15

Hi there Thermal-Mac,

Get started with the details below from Password-protect a Numbers spreadsheet on iPad:

A spreadsheet can have only one password. If you change an existing password when you share a spreadsheet with others, the new password replaces the original. If you add a password after you share a spreadsheet, be sure to notify participants.
Important: There’s no way to recover your password if you forget it. Be sure to choose a password you won’t forget, or write the password down in a safe place.
If your iPad has Face ID (the face detection feature) or Touch ID (the fingerprint detection feature), you can use it to open password-protected spreadsheets. For information on setting up Face ID or Touch ID, see the user guide for your device.

The "Open a password-protected spreadsheet with Face ID or Touch ID" section may also help.

Regards.
