sidecar

Sidecar does not work unless I reset my mac. Additionally, if the screensaver comes on, then I have a high chance of sidecar failure as well. The only solution is again to reset the computer. The mirror screen trick does not work. Resetting the ipad does not work. Ever since I have upgraded to moterey, I have had nothing but problems like this. One of them involved photo screen savers and it is my guess that if I want sidecar to work, I cannot have a screen saver programed. I really need the extra screen, can anyone help me out?

Screensaver must be temporarily disabled on your Mac while using Sidecar.

That said, if you already tried (to no avail) all the steps provided in this support article:--> Use an iPad as a second display for a Mac - Apple Support (using different connections methods, if available), I suggest that you contact Apple support directly, using this link:--> Get Support

My pleasure :)

Being a user like you, I've no certainties about that, but a friend of mine started using Sidecar since Catalina was available and he had many troubles at the beginning with the screensaver enabled. When he installed BigSur, the issue still persisted. So he decided to contact Apple Support and they recommended not to use a screensaver, 'cause it could interfere with the dialogue between Mac and iPad. He has since disabled the screensaver and, even after installing Monterey OS, he has not used it anymore.

To feel more comfortable, you can contact Apple Support too (or visit an Apple Store) and ask them.

Giulio
