i left my air pods on a trip and it shows the location as of yesterday at 7:30am but not where they are now? Why?
Most likely that was the last location before the AirPods battery died. See the 'If your AirPods are offline' section in:

Troubleshooting Automatic-Relocating AirPods:
Device Restrictions:
AirPods are not assigned their own IP address. They are showing up at the last place the device these were synced to that itself was connected to the internet. So, someone has reset these, and synced the AirPods with their own device, I'd assume.
