Connecting iPad to MacBook

My MacBook Pro M1 can't display the contents of my iPad Pro. Instead it says 'Music or TV Library has not been found'. No matter what I try, I can't get it to show what it should: the contents of the iPad.

Does anyone have any idea as to what might cause this? As it is now I can't sync my iPad or otherwise manage its content.

yingfuli,

Thank you for following up with us.

Can you let us know more about what you're experiencing? What happens when you try to sync your iPad with your Mac using the steps in the link we previously provided? Do you receive any other errors?

If you do receive an error code as well, the information here may help: Find an iTunes or Finder error code

Thank you.

Finder does recognise the iPad but when selected in Finder it only shows ‘Music or TV Library is not found’. There is no way to get past this dialogue so there is no way to sync. I tried removing the iPad, restarting it and connecting again but to no avail. I also tried restarting the MacBook but that also didn’t help.

Both the Music and TV library are located on an external NAS but the first time I connected the iPad to the MacBook that didn’t pose any problems and it didn’t for some time until last week.
