I have tried the to remove the golfball from my login screen going into Users and Groups but cannot change the golf ball icon. Any ideas how to change this for when I login or my screen locks?

I have the same problem. I have repeated gone to System Preferences, hover over the photo by my name until it says "edit" and then choose a new photo. The photo in my System Preferences changes, but the golfball is still there at the login screen. It's like the change is not syncing up or something. I have tried restarting the computer, logging off and back in, etc.
Hover the mouse pointer over the little pic and then click it when you see "edit" appear.
