Login picture and choosing with arrow disappeared.

I just ran the latest security update for 10.15.7.

I have firmware password activated.  Normally when I start the MBP I get the login screen where I choose a user and can do so by using the arrow keys to select a user and confirm with the rerun key.

Since the update I no longer see the pictures associated with the user accounts (they are a generic type of pic now) and I cannot select with the arrow key.  Iow have to use the mouse to do so.

Any idea as to how to fix?

I fixed it an hour ago, did a safe boot, and now all is well.

Thanks for your help.

Hello ChangeAgent,

Welcome to Apple Support Communities!

It sounds like after a security update, your user login pictures are different and you are unable to use the keyboard keys. We’d like to help.

Are you able to successfully login to the user account using your mouse?

If so, after logging in, try restarting the Mac. Does the issue persist after a restart?

Take care.
