iPhone 13 mini battery drain overnight

There was a community post about this in October 2021; unfortunately the answers did not provide a solution.

Suffering the same issue now I wonder about any solution. Watching the battery status or caring about energy saving methods is the last useful imho and does not offer any help.

Situation is, that the iPhone loses 15-20% battery life overnight will just idling. Energy saving mode activated(means also no background updating). Battery’s usage shows no apps consuming! Battery health is at 97%.

Any help / idea on that?

Thx

I can confirm after the first nighttime with iOS 15.4 running, that the drain issue did not appear again.

So perhaps some unknown interferences within iOS causes that drain.

Presumably mentionable: The iOS Update was done via Mac (taking the more comprehensive iOS package).

Hello there ,

Troubleshooting iPhone Battery Draining:

Refer to the Following:

I. Upgrade Once More:

Upgrade to the latest update.

Go Here:  Update your iPhone Using a Computer - User Tip

II. Report this to Apple:

Do your part: Let Apple know what is going on here. Provide them with feedback on this. They may not get back to you directly, but the more feedback they received on this, the more they will know what is going on, and what needs to be fixed in updates to come.

  1. Go Here: Feedback - iPhone - Apple
  2. Comment: on when the issue began, and how you have troubleshot it thus far.
  3. Select: "Bug Report" for the "Feedback Type"
  4. Proceed from there aw necessary

II. Troubleshooting iPhone Battery Draining:

Refer to the Following...

A. Battery Drain Info:

The iPhone battery will drain, unless it is plugged in and charging. With lots installed, the charge would be slower. As for how fast it would drain the battery, that would depend on the battery health and the volume (sound) you use.

  1. Go Here: iPhone Battery and Performance - Apple Support
  2. Scroll Down: to "Your battery's maximum capacity"

B.. Troubleshooting the Battery:

Thank you for your reply!

See the articles I sent you above ⬆️

and I advise you :

Leave your phone plugged in and charging overnight. Once the battery is charged the phone will switch to using power from the power supply. Once the power supply is removed the phone will switch to using battery power.

Do not make a habit of closing all apps. It takes more system resources to restart an app from scratch than it does for a suspended app to pick up where it left off.

Make sure optimized charging is turned on: Settings > Battery > Battery Health > Optimized Battery Charging

Your battery will chemically age over time, there is nothing you can do to avoid this.

Thanks again, Lafeef.

Although none of that helps me from the position I ask the question from.

My point is not to demand for anything about how to save battery which I´m of course aware of, but to get a grip on the problem or hints from people experiencing the same issue. Obviously the battery drains for no comprehensible reason..

Well, so I’ll wait a while for further community thoughts before perhaps calling upon apple regarding this matter then.
