Set up "Focus" mode but not some apps do not make a noise when they notify, even with "Focus" off

I set up Focus mode to allow two people and one app. Now WhatsApp and some other apps are no longer making noise when they give notifications, even if Do Not Disturb/Focus off. Any reason this would be?

Not sure why the toggle button in settings is called "Do Not Disturb" but the overall feature seems to be called "Focus". Confusing to me.

Also why is this website back to logging me out constantly over and over again? This has been going on for a long time, and seems to have gotten worse.
