Mac OS X Optimizing my mac notification
Hey everyone,
If I click the cross, rather than clicking the 'Close' button, will the 'optimizing my mac' process terminate? Or does it continue in the background?
Thanks!

Click the cross rather than the close button? Are you referring to indexing spotlight? There is no optimization on a Mac. Once spotlight begins to index, it will continue till done. If something else. You need to be a little more clear about it.
After updating the OS and restarting, a notification came up that my Mac was being optimised. I am just wondering, when I clicked the cross did I end the process or simply dismiss the notification? There was also a ‘close’ button that I didn’t click.
Ok. The notification that you got was on the top right corner. You did not stop the optimization.
You are welcome.

Think the user is using Monterey as this feature may not appear in Yosemite
I didn't intentionally activate the process - it was a result of me performing the update. Thanks everyone for your help!
