Unable to install Monterey

I was prompted to upgrade to Monterey. I clicked on the install button and received an error message that stated that "this copy of Install Monterey is damaged" and I was unable to upgrade. Advice please.

Mac mini, macOS 10.13

if you get the installer is damaged message it means the App Store is detecting another copy of a macOS Installer in your Applications folder. Locate it, move it to the Trash, and then, empty the Trash. Then try again to upgrade.
