When I double click the Photos file from Adobe Bridge it will only open the Photos App, it will not display the photos in the file and allow me to open them in Photoshop. Can I change this or is this Capitalism at its finest?

The way to do it, which is NOT RECOMMENDED, because it will cause confusion and possible library corruption, is to run Photos as a referenced library and keep your images in a standard folder where Bridge can get at them.
Note that this is NOT RECOMMENDED.
If you are using Photos, then adobe bridge is redundant.
Instead, use the "Edit in" feature of photos to transfer a file from photos to photoshop (or any other editor)

Apart from the profound limitations of referenced libraries, photos that are edited via Bridge will not show the edits in Photos, and, of course, vice versa.
Which is why I don't recommend it, but it is an option. Basically you would *never* edit in Photos and after an edit in PS, you would have to do a small Photos edit and "Revert to Original" to see the edits.
As both Bridge and Photos perform the same task in the workflow - managing the photos - pick one and forget the other. Using both simply causes confusion, like having two address books.
