when I tried to log into my MacBook Air, a notification said my password was wrong. I know I entered the correct password because I had it saved with my finger print option. I changed my password and the log in screen says my account is locked. What do I do?

I understand you are certain your password was correct, but you still were unable to log in. Then, you changed your password. Those were reasonable steps to take, but the following may be applicable: If you see an 'Unable to sign you in to your Apple ID' message - Apple Support.

Also, refer to If you can't reset your Mac login password - Apple Support.
