When I try to make a purchase using the double click on my Apple Watch nothing happens other than the icon flashes to show that the button has been pushed. The purchase does not go through. As a workaround, I take the watch off and use my iPhone (double click) to make the purchase but this is frustrating.

When you double press the side button on your Apple Watch the option to use Apple Pay will appear. Does the side button respond if you press and hold? This will give you the option to turn off your Apple Watch. Sometimes powering off and restarting can help.
