Connecting 2 monitors to a MacMini M1.

I just set up my MacMini M1 with two monitors via a Baseus Hub. Both screens are working fine, but I have been unable to change the 'mirror' setting and I need to be able to work with a different file on each monitor. I have followed Apple help directions by accessing "printers" in the preferences menu but there is no 'detect displays' or 'display settings button'. I've tried several work arounds but nothing comes up. What am I doing wrong?

The Mac Mini M1 only supports a single display stream output via USB-C / Thunderbolt-3. In order for the displays to show different images one of the two monitors will need to be connected to the M1's HDMI output instead of the hub.
