Unable to delete ‘people’ from Find My app

I once shared my location with a friend and ever since they have been under “people” (not devices) in the Find My app. I’ve tried to delete them several times, from the app on my iPhone as well as my MacBook. I’ve forced closed the apps on both devices, rebooted the devices themselves, no matter what I do and no matter how many times I re-delete them they just reappear. A previous post showed the at over 30 people have experienced this. The “people” list does not show up on iCloud.com, from my knowledge it only shows up on the actual app. PLEASE allow people to remove “people” from the list.

Me too, I have tried on iPhone, MacBook, and through browser on iCloud.com but the deletion never works. I attempted to chat with Apple about this but they raised my issue to a higher level that required speaking to someone and I haven’t had the time to do the support phone call. It’s super irritating that people cannot be removed! Glad I’m not the only one this is happening to though, hopefully Apple fixes whatever causes this glitch.

Go to the ‘find my’ app and click on the persons device you want to delete, then scroll down until you see ‘Erase This Device’. Hope this is what you needed.

I'm experiencing this same issue. This person is from years ago & I cannot remove them from 'people'. I've also tried removing them using the phone, iPad, & Mac & no success.

I also wanted to add that I stopped sharing my location and vice versa with the person years ago. A previous post similar to mine was provided the advice to block the contact but I do not want to do that as I am friends with the person, is there anything I can do?

Hello, the person is not listed under “devices”, they are listed under “people”. I follow the prompts to delete, yet it never works. Additionally, there is a loading /spinning wheel symbol next to the persons name that never stops loading
