App Specific Password Not Working

Has anyone been able to get their app specific password working on a pc? I have reset it numerous times and have tried Outlook 2021, 2013, Thunderbird, Windows Mail and can't get a connection to my Icloud Email. What is the fix??? Thunderbird... "Unable to log in at server", Outlook... "We couldn't connect to the incoming (IMAP) server. I have other email accounts all working fine with other providers.

It sounds like you're trying to get your iCloud Mail up and running on Outlook, is that correct? If so, give the steps in the article below a try, and see if they resolve the problem for you:


If you can’t add iCloud Calendars, Mail, or Contacts to Outlook


Most importantly, you'll want to make sure that iCloud for Windows has been installed and it's the most recent version. If the steps don't resolve the issue, please let us know where you get stuck, and we'll go from there.

Are you able to go to iCloud.com and sign in successfully?

Do you have iCloud for Windows installed on the PC?


"If you're signed in to iCloud for Windows, you don't need an app-specific password when using your Apple ID with third-party Microsoft apps."

OK. Thanks for confirming you are able to check your iCloud email on our website, but have also tried other ways to connect it.


We'd recommend reaching out to Microsoft Support at this time, specifically because it seems the issue is specific to configuring Outlook to work with your iCloud account. Here's their main support page for contact:
