How to enlarge fonts systemwide and in all apps?

iPhone 13 pro max:

I cannot believe a phone this expensive, a brand so popular and it doesn’t allow the basic function to enlarge fonts systemwide including icons. Maybe if I could change resolution that would help but I don’t see a way to do that nor do I see any apps I can download to enlarge systemwide fonts. My $200 Motorola phone did all of this smoothly and seamlessly.

Never have I had to struggle so much to read on a phone before I do not have microscopes in my eyes nor should I have to. It’s 2022 but this phone is like something from the 1980s. I don’t need glasses to read anything else, so it’s not a vision issue.

Yes I went into settings and accessibility and enlarged the fonts, but it only affects a few things making it extremely difficult to use this phone.

Unbelievable.

The cursor is wacky too. Trying to use this phone is difficult in so many ways that it shouldn’t be. and no this is not a user issue. I’m an IT person and I developed apps with accessibility in mind.

I’m not sure who approved this ecosystem.

Terrible QC or something. I’ll never buy an iPhone again will be returning this one too I guess.

Thanks for the advice Chris!

I've actually already tried that.

As well as:

I found the upper right corner swipe for what I believe iphone calls the "Control Center". Which Apple Support never even mentioned to try. But, in the Control Center, one can enlarge fonts for All Apps or Individual Apps. Which is nice. But.....it doesn't adjust all fonts in the apps or for everywhere on the phone either.

I've also have adjusted zoom and text size in "settings" which also nope, doesn't enlarge system wide.

Have also made changes in "Accessibility" Settings, nope again.

Really weird. First phone I've ever had where all fonts couldn't be enlarged.

Hope they fix it.

My eyes are great thanks.

I don't need glasses for anything at all.

If my vision were to blame I wouldn't have been able to clearly see the fonts, with no issues at all on my inexpensive Motorola, or my Samsung Note before that, that I still have and use.

I can still read tiny print everywhere, EXCEPT this iPhone.

I've had many phones over 2 decades from cheap to expensive, helped many friends with differing brands set theirs up and NEVER before have I seen a font issue on any of them like on this iPhone.

They aren't even using the screen space available for images or many apps, which makes no sense either.

I'm a web developer.

Besides application programming, I also take care of Web Accessibility for a large University's web sites.

Which means I'm familiar with issues just like this.

Scalability and consistency are what's missing in this iPhone.

The font issue could be very easily resolved. It wouldn't be difficult for Apple to fix this.

Glasses for this issue wouldn't be useful for anyone, even if they needed them, because the difference between some of the fonts in areas that will enlarge would be too big compared to the microscopic ones.

The Internet is full of discussion of people with the same issue.

Not the users fault at all.

It's an Apple iPhone issue.

Then perhaps your iPhone 13 Pro Max screen is faulty and needs to be replaced. I have been using iPhones since 2012, avoiding the larger screen iPhones, and I have never had any problem reading the fonts or seeing the icons. I am typing this on my iPhone SE 2020, 4.7 inch display, and have no problems at all, you shouldn’t be having this problem on a Pro Max size screen.

As someone who claims experience since dumb terminals you should know that the more commonly used term for decades and especially in the year 2022 is cursor.

Claims experience? Pretty clairvoyant of you to apparently know more about my high school days than I do. That terminal didn't even have a monitor. You called a mainframe, waited for a tone, then hung the phone up on rubber cups so it could talk your terminal. Everything after that, all incoming text and what you typed was text printed on continuous feed paper.

The insertion point was called a cursor back in the days of DOS, when the only marker of where you were to begin typing was the flashing underscore.

But terms change. With the advent of the GUI, the cursor came to refer to the mouse arrow. To avoid confusion as to what you were talking about, the blinking I-bar for text was changed to insertion point.

Remember when journalists (who you'd expect actually studied English) properly used affect and effect? And now instead use impact as a replacement for those, despite there being no actual impact between physical objects in regard to what they're reporting?

LoL....instead of offering anything constructive you took the time to argue about cursor vs insertion point knowing full well what they mean.

And yet, you called my response wrong, despite knowing the difference. Hmmmm.

And yes, I did offer constructive criticism. I suggested reading glasses. I didn't used to need them, either. But age changes things. The natural lenses in our eyes aren't as supple anymore, and can't be pulled/pushed to the necessary shape to brings things into focus. It's either that, or as suggested, you have a bad screen. Bring the phone into an Apple Store and have then look it over. Or, compare yours to an identical model someone else you know may have.

So, you actually believe that the day I got my iphone my eyes dramatically changed? Omg....LoL

Dude, I can still clearly read all the fonts on the Motorola I was using until a few days ago, as well as a Samsung Note II which is ancient as far as phones go.

So, not a user eye issue here.

It's an Apple issue.

When one enlarges fonts on a device ALL fonts should respond accordingly and that's not what's happening on this iPhone.
