Headphone accommodation settings on apple watch?

To preface, I am hard of hearing. When I got my iPhone, I was surprised to find so many settings dedicated to improving the experience of someone in my position. I was even more impressed to find the headphone accommodation setting that allowed me to use my audiogram to tune the phone's audio through the airpods pro. Without exaggerating, it has completely changed music for me and allows me to hear instruments and aspects of the song that I never could, so for that I'd like to thank everyone involved in the conception and execution of the feature. I can't imagine listening to music without it.

On that note, I am considering buying an apple watch, with being able to listen to music away from my phone being a main appeal. However, from searching I could find no mention of headphone accommodations being present on it. Is it there? If not, are there any plans to add it?

Thanks

In looking at the settings for my Apple Watch, it does have an Accessibility area in Settings. However, there is no section there for headphone accommodations. You are not speaking with Apple here, this is a user to user support forum, so none of us would be aware if there is any plans, and speculation here is prohibited by the Terms of Use. Nobody would know anything like that unless Apple announced it. You can provide feedback to Apple to let them know you would be interested in seeing this change by going to Feedback - Apple Watch - Apple

There are provisions for pairing the AirPod Pro directly to the Apple watch. Although when you pair the AirPods with the iPhone that will done automatically. See the 'Pair AirPods Pro with Apple Watch' section in:

Pair AirPods Pro - Apple Support

To listen to music on the Apple swatch without your iPhone, you will have to either:

  • Subcribe to Apple Music and make sure you get the GPS+Cellular version of the watch so that you can stream music. See:

Set up cellular on Apple Watch - Apple Support

  • Download music from your iPhone to the watch before you go away from the iPhone. You do not need an Apple Music subscription or a cellular version of the watch to do this, but you will be limited to listening to only the downloaded music. You can change that periodically. But with the newer versions of the watch (with 64GB of memory) that its not much of a limitation since you can download quite a few songs.
