Time Sensitive Message Failed to Send

So when the message notifies you that it’s failed due to time sensitivity lightly drag the notification <- that way there would be two choices ‘clear’ and ‘options’ click on options and and the top it will offer an option to turn off time sensitivity click that and messages should come through! :)

This was solved for me by going to the messages list in iMessage, clicking “Edit” in the upper-left corner, and clearing out all messages in the “recently deleted” submenu

I solved my problem by turning off the VPN and turning it back on.

I attempted to "Reset Network Settings" and it fixed this problem on my end

I experienced this issue while overseas while only using phone on wifi networks. Every time I turned on my hone I got multiple notifications of failure to send messages. I eventually solved by turning off “send as SMS” in settings > messages.

The fix that worked for me was to turn off then back on cellular data and for AT&T to turn off and then back on “this line”. Both settings are in the “cellular” settings. I just recently had this issue when I upgraded to this new phone (iPhone 15) and again after an iOS update. Hope this helps.

What's your iPhone storage like? I was having this issue when my phone's storage was almost full and it was causing a number of different issues.

Once I cleared my iPhone's storage up, I no longer had this issue.

So found this and guess what?! My send a sms was off!!! I have never turned this off and each update seems to change my settings so turned this back on. Jumping jeezus on a pogo stick lol.

After clicking on Messages, you click on Notifications to get to the Time Sensitive option. Yep. Mine was turned on with the last upgrade as well. 😡

PMVCUA - "Reset Network Settings" and it fixed this problem on my end.

I was getting the same error each time I would turn on my IPhone 13 ( Ios 16.5 )

I could not see any reason why it was occurring and the message had been deleted.

I then found out deleted messages are in fact stored and available in some backup area.

I then deleted all these old backup messages and the Notification pop up no longer appeared when I started the phone

Thank you for contacting Apple Support Communities. It seems like you are receiving Time Sensitive notifications. Check to see if you have it enabled in Settings > Focus and disable it and see if the issue persists. The second article can help if there is an issue sending messages.

Are you able to send text messages normally?

Are these failed messages sent to a specific contact?

Having same problem. Apple response isn’t consistent with iphone 10 i just deleted the “focus” under settings instead. Seems to happen only when driving and using voice to text. Fingers crossed.

To turn this off Go to Settings > Scroll down to Focus > You can have this set for All the Focus groups, but will just do the "Do Not Disturb" for example. Click on "Do Not Disturb" > Click on Apps > There you will See "Time Sensitive Notifications" > Slide this to OFF.

A Second Place to check or Notifications is;

Settings > Scroll down to Notifications > Scroll down to Messages > Under "ALWAYS DELIVER IMMEDIATELY" Slide this to OFF.

scroll to “time sensitive” and turn it off.

I never had it on. The last upgrade must automatically turn it on.
