Open audio files from iCloud Files in Books

I have some audio files stored in iCloud Files that I would very much like to play in Books. However, the option to open in Books doesn’t appear under share like it does with PDFs.

I want to be able to do this on iPhone/iPad.

Any idea how to do this?

iPhone 12, iOS 15

Hi stinenordo,

Just to confirm, are you attempting to play audiobooks? If so, were they purchased though Apple Books or another source? If they were purchased through Apple Books try these steps on your iPhone:

1. Open the Books app, then tap Reading Now at the bottom of the screen.
2. Tap the Sign In button Sign In button or your photo in the top-right corner of the screen.
3. Under My Purchases, tap either Books or Audiobooks.
If you use Family Sharing, you can tap a family member's name to see their purchases.
4. Tap "Not on this [device]," then tap All Books or All Audiobooks.
5. Find the book or audiobook that you want to download, then tap the Download buttonDownload buttonDon't see the item that you purchased?

If that's not what you need help with, reply with a few more details.

Best regards.

Hello MVegas21,

Yes, I am attempting to play audiobooks (.mp3 files).

They were not purchased through Apple Books.

I really don’t know what would be helpful details.

The .mp3 files were not purchased through Apple.

They are stored in iCloud Drive.

I wish to play them in Apple Books, but that is not an option under the «Share» menu (like it is for .pdf, .epub etc).
