Having issues with MainStage 3 "quit unexpectedly" on start up.

MainStage keeps crashing on start up.

I have MainStage 3.6 - Mac OS BigSur 11.6.5

Following fault message on Terminal:

MainStage 3(1929,0x114499e00) malloc: *** error for object 0x7fbe736bea00: pointer being freed was not allocated

MainStage 3(1929,0x114499e00) malloc: *** set a breakpoint in malloc_error_break to debug

zsh: abort /Applications/MainStage\ 3.app/Contents/MacOS/MainStage\ 3

Any ideas please?

MacBook Pro 15″, macOS 11.6

A lot of users are having the same issue. I highly recommend downgrading to your backed-up version of MainStage until this bug is fixed. As things stand, MainStage 3.6 appears to be unusable for anyone requiring third party plugins.

No, not enough information to help you. Please check if you have any AudoUnits, which might trigger it.

I’ve reinstalled version 3.5.3 from my backup for now - which is working fine.

Hopefully you’ve got a system backup or a backup of the previous version of MainStage?

I’m using various Kontakt player instruments - but nothing very obscure - a few native instrument plug ins, and some Soundiron instruments
