iPhone 7: I can connect to 2.4Ghz but not 5Ghz WiFi networks

I did some research and found out that all iPhone 7 models supports 5Ghz because it has 802.11ac Wi‑Fi with MIMO technology inside as per iPhone 7 - Technical Specifications.

With its new 5-GHz spectrum, 802.11ac achieves faster speeds for data throughput and provides more bandwidth as per https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/products/wireless/what-is-802-11ac.html#~q-a website.

Enabled my modem on 5Ghz bandwith to Auto mode (20/40/80Mhz) as per Recommended settings for Wi-Fi routers and access points - Apple Support but no luck.

What is an actual issue here?

iPhone 7, iOS 15

My iphone 7 connects seamlessly with 5GHz wifi

If Wi-Fi will not connect do all three of these as a minimum:-

• Reset the router to factory settings (menu or paper clip)

• On iphone Settings, General, Transfer iphone or reset, reset, reset network settings

• If you have a VPN you are strongly recommended to uninstall it and its profile in Settings, General, VPN and device management

Here's some more steps you can try for Wi-Fi connection issues that may be helpful if your phone will not connect to WiFi
