Is there a way of removing an app’s backed up data from iCloud without removing the app data from the IPad?

I have 5GB of Goodnotes data backed up by default on iCloud. I want to remove them and free up my iCloud storage. However, if I do it from my device (iPad), the Goodnotes’ data from the device will also be removed. I visited icloud.com, and there was no option for seeing the backed-up data nor for clearing up my iCloud storage. My only option left is to remove all my Goodnotes notes from my device or buy extra storage on a monthly basis. Is there any way to solve this problem or is it a trap by Apple?

Hi 568_hdkrnh,

You'll want to reach out to GoodNotes Support to see what your options are for managing copies of your data directly on your iPad instead of through iCloud. You'll want to make sure the content is copied to your iPad prior to removing it from iCloud.

These steps may help, as shown in this article: Set up iCloud for third-party apps on all your devices

Set up iCloud for third-party apps on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch
1. On your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, go to Settings > [your name] > iCloud.
2. Scroll down, then turn on the app. For some apps, you need to turn on iCloud Drive before you can turn on the app.
Some third-party apps give you access to the data they store in iCloud Drive. If so, you see a folder with the app’s name in iCloud Drive in the Files app on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch.

Take care.
