Is it safe for a MacBook Air to act as a desktop computer by constantly being plugged into the charging port of the new Studio Display monitor?

Yes. That shouldn’t cause any problems.

No problem. I have used my M1 MacBook Air for over a year is such a way 95% of the time. Often, weeks at a time.

Also, I never shutdown or sleep, I simply use LockScreen.
