Thanks for your patience - I used the exact settings from your previous reply and now see a rendered video in the project browser. Are these the final steps?
Thanks again.
That's what I did, I selected the audio and video in the project browser > right click > sync function.
A new video clip is now available in the project browser window.
If you have a document with detailed step by step instructions that you can attach it would be appreciated.
Thanks.
The browser is in the library. The project is what'se edited in the timeline.
Sync audio and video in Final Cut Pro - Apple Support
You have to select the clips, or sections of clips, that you want to sychronize
If you can mark those two sections on both the video and the audio clips, the sync function will make a clip based only on that range.
I placed two markers - one on the audio at point X and a second marker on the video at point Y, but the Synchronize Clips function is disabled. I need to align those two point.
No, no, no. The video and audio have to be selected and the sync function applied to the clips in the browser. This creates a sync clip, which you can edit into the project.
I think that when you are using the expression “project browser” you mean the browser.
You need to create a project, if you have not already, and add the sync clip to the project.
