Is the Native Posix Thread Library (NPTL) supported by OS X?

I was just wondering if the Native Posix Thread Library (NPTL) is supported by OS X?

I understand this has huge performance improvements and would like to take advantage of this.

The Native POSIX Thread Library is just a library meant to address inefficiencies in the pthreads implementations in early versions of Linux. It has nothing to do with MacOSX.
