16" M1 Macbook Pro high GPU usage (50%-80%) when no app is running

This happens with no application except Chrome is running on my M1 Macbook Pro (no external monitor). By comparison, GPU usage is < 10% on my Intel Macbook Pro.

Is this normal? Process list shows nothing is consuming much GPU either.

M1 Macbook Air High GPU Load at idle Hi, I own a 2021 MacBook Air 8gb running OS Monterey. I noticed this evening when closing down that the GPU load is very high with no apps open. Fluctuating between 60 - 80+% on istats. Is this normal? I have never seen it that high before even when working. A restart didn't help drop the loads either. As I am typing it does seem to have settled down to the 20% range but it was abnormally high for around 1h. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!

AMD GPU spikes to 100% all the time, 16inch MacBook Pro AMD Radeon Pro 5500M 8 GB Can someone tell me why in the activity monitor my GPU history is at 100% more then half the time when not doing any intensive tasks? Google Chrome is the champion.. even with only a few tabs open, but also VLC player, Garageband etc.. I am not doing anything crazy here.. no external screen, not a lot of apps open, no virtual machine.. hell with these specs I should be able to run all that together and even that should not be taxing the GPU so much..?

Slow GPU performance MacBook Pro 13 2020 For everyone experiencing issue with new high end MacBook Pro 13 2020 with slow gpu performance. Issue results in gpu not going higher than 300hz (Can be checked using intel power gadget). I had the same problem and resetting SMC helped!! https://support.apple.com/ru-ru/HT201295 Now gpu works as expected from 0 to 1Ghz. It tripled FPS and gpu performance. Hope it helps someone.

Looks like it may be a bug in iStats Menu. macOS's Activity Monitor is showing lower numbers. fyi.
