Why can't I delete a custom domain alias?

Months ago I created a custom email domain.

  1. Create custom email domain
  2. Add my own email alias
  3. Add my wife's alias to my own account on accident, thinking I had to create it first on my end
  4. Delete my wife's alias from my account
  5. Add her alias from her iCloud
  6. ERROR! That email alias is already in use.

It is NOT in use. Your system is caching it somewhere. This has been reported repeatedly. Please fix it or I go to Google mail.

Hi Lee, like everyone else who has posted this issue online, Apple Support did nothing to resolve my issue.

They indicated that I have to wait 30 days after deleting an alias in order for it to be available on another Apple account. This is 100% false. I waited 2 months before attempting to re-try my wife's.

Additionally, the Apple Support hung up on me after I requested that they escalate this to a software engineer. This is clearly a BUG in your software. Your Technical Support is not qualified to handle this.

When I asked to escalate this further, they told me to F off. Wait your 30 days. As if I hadn't already. FIX YOUR BOGUS CUSTOM EMAIL SUPPORT, APPLE.
