Apple account authentication (on my Mac Air, when overseas)

How do I authenticate my Apple account on my Mac Air, when overseas? When my iphone is without its Australian sim card, and mostly, in fact, without any sim card at all. Can I still authenticate my Apple account?

My bank in Australia has an app that bypasses the sim card and uses the satellite, does Apple offer any similar method please?
