New to Monterey v12.3 trying to download Brave browser and download of dmg file stops at zero KB. Using safari and not using a VPN tried with firewall both on and off no difference.

Adblocker allowed that popup and selected M1 apple chip. As soon as selected the blue line starts on the download icon and then stops. Go to the download and it is stopped at ZeroKB. Press reload and same happens.
You may need to go into Safari >> Preferences >> Websites tab >> Downloads and then Add this site to Allow Downloads

Is the computer and Safari using an Ad Blocker ? If so, allow this pop up
Reboot your Mac. Press the shift key when launching Safari. Clear Cache and All HIstory. Quit and relaunch Safari normally. Any change in Brave download behavior?

You may want to change "When visiting other websites:" to "Ask" in Safari > Preferences > Websites > Downloads. That way you won't run into the problem again.
