MacBook Pro 2022 connected with led Cinema Display 27 inch (2010) and it's working but:
when I close the MacBook Pro the display goes on black.
With my earlier MacBook the display stays on and I could use the mouse and the keyboard.
Now I don't know how to do this.
Closed clamshell articles have been removed, which generally indicates Apple does not want to support this feature any more.
Several conditions were required when closed clamshell was working:
external keyboard connected.
external pointing device connected.
Power adapter connected.
lacking any of those, the default behavior was always that your Mac sleeps when the cover is closed.
You paid dearly for that display, which is approaching 4K resolution.
Why not leave the built-in display OPEN, and place it next to, above or below your external display to create an "Extended Desktop" ?
