Since update to iOS 15.4 my Apple Mail doesn't do notifications

After the iOS 15.4 update, my mail on all my iOS devices doesn't show mail notifications on the lock screen. Is there any fix? Not a major problem, just annoying.

iPhone XS, iOS 15

Hello BertingAP,

Let's double-check some settings out for your email account. Head to Settings > Mail > Accounts > Fetch New Data, and see if Push is enabled at the top here. Also, check to see what each individual account is set to on this screen, whether it may be Push, Fetch, or Manual.

Also, confirm that Settings > Mail > Notifications still has notifications enabled on the Lock Screen.

If you have any Focus options enabled (Settings > Focus) , check to see if Mail is an allowed app here.

Customize your Mail notifications on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

Cheers.

I have this issue as well, with several apps that used to pop up Notifications on my locked Home screen. What I found that fixes it is to go into Settings->Notifications. Then, select the app(s) that you want to ‘fix’, one by one. At the bottom of each app Notification settings are items under the section ‘Locked Screen Appearance’.

I changed mine to Show Previews Always (this can be changed globally for all apps, or on an app by app basis), but the more important one to change is the Notification Grouping setting, from Automatic to By App. This seemed to fix them for me.

Well, contrary to my previous post, the changes I said I made, and it fixed the problem, was not correct. Some quirk must have made some immediate notification get displayed, but subsequent notifications did not display.

For me, the solution that really DID work for all the applications that were no longer posting any notifications (Microsoft Teams, Microsoft Authenticator, Citrix Secure Mail), was to DELETE the apps, and then reinstall them. During the reinstallation process, it prompts whether Notifications are wanted or not, which I selected Yes. Now, they all work again!

One warning: Microsoft Authenticator is not simple to reinstall, because you need to access to portal to add your device back in, scanning a QR code, etc. But they are now working again.

If your Notifications were for an IOS built-in app (like Mail), you can delete and reinstall it, too. It can be found in the App Store, just like any other app.
