You need iTunes for Windows. If you current iTunes installation is not working with the iPod delete it and reinstall the latest version for Windows directly from Apple at iTunes - Apple

Thanks loads I've been away from iTunes & iPods for a decade and starting to remember how it all goes.
ITunes is now installed & telling me to reset my shuffle. I've found the windows software to do so but having trouble installing 32 bit software on a 64 bit machine. I think I've tried every trick online (Windows settings to allow 32 bit to run, seeing compatibility to older Windows versions) - everything except a 32 bit virtual machine which sounds ott to run one measly program.
I waiting for a eureka moment & only doing this to show my kids what "old" tech is like (maybe all these travails are what it was like). Would anyone out there have a quick & easy fix (ie reset a gen 1 shuffle on a Windows 10 64 bit pc)
