Icons on my desktop can't be moved into folders. Invisible square!

There is a very thin black square on my desktop, and none of the pictures of folders in this are work anymore. I've tried clicking on the black line to delete it, but nothing happens. HELP!!

Hello brh1028,

Welcome to Apple Support Communities!

We'd like to learn more about this issue to better assist you.

Does anything happen when you click on the line? Does it show on all screens, or only your desktop screen?

Please try restarting your Mac to see if that resolves the issue: Shut down or restart your Mac - Apple Support

If it continues, you can test in safe mode to help isolate the source of the issue: Start up your Mac in safe mode - Apple Support

We hope these steps can help.

Cheers!
